Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between John Kyle Romo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Norris Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 48 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Kyle Romo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Norris Jr!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Norris Jr throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Romo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Norris Jr throws a shot from downtown. Romo moves away and avoids it.

Romo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Romo misses with a punch to the body.
Romo is working Norris Jr over against the ropes.
Norris Jr tries to stall but Romo uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Norris Jr pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.
Romo crunches a lovely knee into Norris Jr's ribcage.
Norris Jr comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Romo lands a really nice looking cross but Norris Jr seems unphased.

Norris Jr turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Norris Jr stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Romo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Romo has closed the distance and engaged Norris Jr in a clinch.
Norris Jr gets through Romo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Romo misses with a knee to the head.
Romo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Romo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Norris Jr breaks from the clinch.
John Kyle Romo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Romo throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Norris Jr has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Romo buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Romo tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Norris Jr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Norris Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Norris Jr fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Romo.
Norris Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Romo manages to avoid it.
Norris Jr throws a hook to the side of Romo's head but Romo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Romo checks a leg kick.
Norris Jr will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Norris Jr tries to move into range but Romo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Romo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Norris Jr swats away the attempt to clinch by Romo.

Romo swings wildly with an uppercut but Norris Jr uses good head movement to avoid it.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Romo.
Romo lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Norris Jr.
Romo misses with the head strike.
Romo blocks an elbow strike.
Norris Jr lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Romo lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Norris Jr is trying to push Romo away but Romo has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Romo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Norris Jr is defending well for now.

Our sources have told us that Romo has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Oh Romo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Norris Jr creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Romo crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5,6... it doesn't look like he's going to make it! Romo face plants back to the mat and the referee calls off the fight! Norris Jr takes it with a brutal technical knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Chuck Norris Jr!
