Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Fjera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Amaral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amaral drives through and clinches with Fjera against the cage.
Amaral lands a hook that snaps the head of Fjera backwards.

We've been informed that Amaral has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Amaral throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Amaral walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Fjera closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Amaral wants to get back to his feet.

Fjera is looking for a kimura but Amaral is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fjera to get the leverage.

Fjera looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Amaral with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fjera working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Fjera lands a big elbow - Amaral is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Fjera!

During a confident post fight interview, Nick Fjera thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Rafael Amaral spoke after the fight, saying 'I'll be back!!!!'.
