The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie thows a left - swing and a miss!
John Wayne Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie misses with a takedown
and Ahokas counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Gracie swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ahokas walks forward, straight into a front kick from Gracie.
Ahokas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Gracie throws a right hand that misses
and Ahokas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ahokas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Gracie throws out a counter right but Ahokas avoids it with no problem.

Gracie throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Gracie darts in looking for a takedown but Ahokas gets double underhooks and turns Gracie into the cage.
Ahokas will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

and Ahokas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Gracie throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Gracie scores with a kick to the midsection.
Gracie lands a nice shot that snaps Ahokas's head back.
Gracie lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ahokas at a distance.
Ahokas misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Gracie counters with a leg kick.
Ahokas throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Gracie throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ahokas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ahokas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Nice body kick there by Gracie.
Gracie lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ahokas takes a step back to recover.

Gracie gets a double leg takedown into Ahokas's guard.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ahokas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Ahokas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Good leg kick by Gracie there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Gracie connects with a leg kick. Ahokas looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Wayne Gracie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gracie lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Gracie throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ahokas on the side of the head.
Ahokas is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Ahokas throws a body shot but no joy.
Gracie throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ahokas tries to counter with a takedown but Gracie is quick to defend against it.
John Wayne Gracie seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The fighters circling - Gracie throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gracie throws the left hand but Ahokas avoids the punch easily.
