Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Stelio Kontos!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Kontos misses its intended target.
Foster could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Foster scores with a hook to the body. Kontos takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Foster staying out of range there.
Foster half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Foster lands with a hook. Kontos tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kontos misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Foster counters with a stiff right hand.
Kontos throws an overhand right that lands on Foster's shoulder, as Foster tries to avoid the shot.
Kontos darts in and out, connecting with a jab.


It looks like Aidan Foster has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kontos throws a big shot that misses.
Foster tests Kontos's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Foster throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Foster punishes Kontos's body with a nice straight punch.

and Foster counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Foster lands with an uppercut that bounces Kontos off the cage and back into range.
Foster fails in his attempt to clinch.

Foster throws a body punch but Kontos moves out of range.
And Kontos tries to counter it with a takedown but Foster pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kontos connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

A looping hook to the body misses from Kontos. Foster does a little dance to reset his feet.
Foster bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kontos throws a hook to the side of Foster's head but Foster sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kontos throws a predictable looking body shot
and Foster counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Foster is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Kontos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Foster changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kontos tries to avoid it but Foster manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kontos to the ground. Kontos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kontos drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Foster defends it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kontos throws a body punch but Foster moves out of range.
Foster tries to clinch

and Kontos counters with a shoot takedown. Foster fights it but they end up in guard.

Foster working for submissions but it's allowed Kontos to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Foster manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Foster looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kontos is one step ahead there.
Kontos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Foster looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kontos has picked Foster up and slammed him! Foster can't keep hold of the triangle and Kontos manages to pass to side control!

Foster tries to get back to half guard but can't.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Foster is working hard here to advance position.
Kontos moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Foster is looking to regain half guard here but Kontos keeps moving and retains side control.
Kontos staying calm.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Stelio Kontos will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Aidan Foster's cut.
That's time! Foster's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Foster takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Foster moves out of range of the strikes.
Kontos takes a swing at Foster's ribcage but misses.
Foster on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kontos misses with a straight left.
Kontos just misses with a punch to the body.

Kontos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kontos digs a good hook to Foster's body.
Kontos throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Foster stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kontos uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Foster has time to react.

Kontos drops his shoulder and cracks Foster with a huge uppercut! Foster goes down! Can Kontos finish him?


Foster is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kontos's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Oh Foster is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Foster will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Foster seems to have got his legs back now.

Foster is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Foster had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kontos defends it easily.
Kontos is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kontos working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kontos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Foster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kontos loads up on a big right hand but Foster slips the punch.
A quick step to the side and Foster tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kontos lands with a nice body punch.
Kontos just misses with a punch to the body.
Foster wants to clinch but Kontos slips to the side

and Kontos counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kontos takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kontos is continuing to stall.

Kontos working over Foster with some ground and pound. Foster looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Stelio Kontos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Foster swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kontos missing with a left hand there. Foster was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Foster scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kontos in his tracks.

The fighters circling - Kontos throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Kontos and Foster goes tumbling to the canvas! Kontos follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kontos tries to stand and escape but Foster is controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Stelio Kontos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Kontos throws a lazy right hand but Foster sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Well Kontos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
