The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Strunz, right into the meat.
Marquet throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Strunz throws out a counter right but Marquet avoids it with no problem.
A looping hook to the body misses from Marquet. Strunz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Marquet scores with a jab. Strunz acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Strunz looks to score with a jab to the body but Marquet is just out of range.

and Strunz counters with a nice low kick that buckles Marquet's knee momentarily.

Marquet walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Strunz is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Marquet had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

The crowd cheers as Marquet lands an impressive looking overhand right. Strunz doesn't seem phased though.

Marquet shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Strunz is trying to defend but Marquet finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Marquet breaks from Strunz's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Strunz is squirming around, avoiding Marquet's attempts to control the action.

Marquet wants to control the pace but Strunz is squirming around nicely.

Marquet is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Strunz can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Strunz is bucking up trying to escape but Marquet cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Strunz has left one of his arms exposed and Marquet doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Strunz screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
