Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akoni Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Piana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akoni Gray!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
19 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rich Piana!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piana steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gray.
Gray uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Piana.
Gray walks into a left hand.
It looks like Akoni Gray has been cut.
Gray scores with a sloppy right hand. Piana should have avoided that one.
Piana throws an off balance right hand
enabling Gray to counter with a crisp jab.
Gray cracks the inside of Piana's front leg.
A swing and a miss from Piana.
A telegraphed right hand from Piana misses the target.
Piana on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gray. Gray obviously looking to wear him down.
Gray cracks Piana with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nice defenses there by Gray.
Piana tests Gray's chin there with a solid looking shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Piana looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gray slips under a jab from Piana.
Gray ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Piana misses with a left hand
and Gray counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gray fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Piana looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Piana swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Gray counters with a head kick that drops Piana to the mat! Piana scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Piana is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
A big left from Piana misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Gray misses the target.
Piana is still on wobbly legs! Can Gray finish him?
No joy there for Piana, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Gray was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Piana misses with a left hand
and Gray counters with a left to the body.
Piana fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rich Piana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gray scoring well with a low kick there.
Gray connects with an inside leg kick.
Piana seems to have recovered his senses.
Gray throws a right and a left that both miss.
Piana swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gray half committed to a counter leg kick.
Gray catches Piana with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A nice leg kick lands there from Gray.
Gray scores with a kick to the body.
Gray drops Piana with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Piana looks back up at him and smiles so Gray waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Piana will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gray swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Piana.
Piana throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gray delivers a nice body kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Gray.
Piana looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Piana walks into a left hand.
Gray bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Piana's head backwards.
Piana might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Gray digs a good hook to Piana's body.
Piana looks up at the clock. Bad move! Gray lands a right hand from hell, dropping Piana. Gray pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akoni Gray!
Akoni Gray retains his light heavyweight title!
In his post fight interview, Akoni Gray started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
