Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Benson Whyte!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shaun Rumble!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whyte bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Whyte throws a leg kick that is checked
and Rumble counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Whyte throws an off balance right hand
and Rumble counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Rumble on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Rumble misses with a hook. Whyte ducked under it nicely.
Whyte fires out a quick counter leg kick but Rumble just manages to avoid it.
Whyte dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Benson Whyte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whyte misses with the body kick
enabling Rumble to counter with a crisp jab.
Whyte throws a big shot that misses.
Whyte throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Rumble stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Whyte.
Whyte seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Whyte throws a body punch but Rumble moves out of range.
Whyte will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rumble gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rumble throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Whyte tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Whyte bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Whyte throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Rumble counter with a right hand.
The fighters circling - Whyte throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rumble lands a jab.
Whyte throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Whyte moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Rumble connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Whyte's hands.
Whyte connects with a body shot that sends Rumble's belly button to the back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rumble throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rumble slips a jab from Whyte.
Rumble appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Whyte misses with a hook to the ribs.
Nice body punch from Whyte - that landed with a thud.
Whyte lands with a short shot to the head.
Whyte lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Whyte blocks a body shot from Rumble.
Whyte lands a hook that snaps the head of Rumble backwards.
Whyte lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Good body shot from Whyte.
Whyte scores with a hook to the body.
Rumble looks winded!
Whyte misses with a hook from the clinch.
Whyte lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Whyte works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Rumble is rocked!
A short right from Whyte on the inside.
Rumble is still on wobbly legs! Can Whyte finish him?
Whyte unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Rumble! He's leaning against the ropes trying to keep his feet but Whyte is unloading with more strikes now! Rumble drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benson Whyte!

Benson Whyte decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
