The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendez shoots for a double leg takedown but Amirkhani sprawls well. He's pushed Mendez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Amirkhani throws an overhand right that lands on Mendez's shoulder, as Mendez tries to avoid the shot.

Mendez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Amirkhani sprawls well. Amirkhani wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mendez gets slowly back to his feet.

Amirkhani cracks Mendez with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Amirkhani has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mendez to stand back up!


Mendez is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Amirkhani throws a pinpoint strike between Mendez's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Mendez crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Amirkhani scores a great knockout victory!
