Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Abbot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boogie Knight!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbot throws a body punch but Knight moves out of range.
Abbot cracks Knight with a good jab.
A swing and a miss from Abbot.
Knight sizes up Abbot with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Abbot uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Knight.
Abbot takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Knight scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Knight has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Abbot misses with a lunging right hand
letting Knight counter with a right hand.


It looks like Tony Abbot has been cut.
Abbot has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Abbot there as he acknowledges the shot.
Knight shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Abbot eats them both and turns towards Knight to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Knight pushes Abbot up against the cage in a clinch.
Knight lands a right hand that snaps the head of Abbot backwards.

Knight breaks the clinch.
Abbot blocks a head kick by Knight.
Knight throws a head kick but Abbot moves out of range.
Abbot throwing a counter right hand but Knight manages to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Abbot takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Knight fails to land with a series of punches.
Abbot throwing a counter right hand but Knight manages to avoid it.
Nice body punch from Knight.
Abbot slips a jab from Knight.
Abbot swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Abbot looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Abbot tries to keep at a distance but Knight has taken the fight into the clinch.

Knight escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Knight drops Abbot with a beautiful combination! Abbot stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Knight is looking for the KO!


Abbot is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Knight is stalking Abbot. Abbot circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Knight, and it's lights out! Abbot really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Boogie Knight!
Our winner, Boogie Knight, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
