The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Eirikson tries to avoid it but Brett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Eirikson to the ground. Eirikson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Eirikson blocks the body kick.
Brett displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Eirikson throws out the jab.
Brett looks to land a right hand but Eirikson moved out of range.
Brett throws a body kick that misses.
Eirikson fails to land with a series of punches.
Brett takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Some wild striking there from Brett.
It seemed like Eirikson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Eirikson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Eirikson duly obliges.

It looks like Benny Brett has been cut.
Eirikson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Leif Eirikson has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brett throws a body kick that misses.
Brett defending well as Eirikson loads up on a big left hand.
Eirikson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brett stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Brett avoids the body shot from Eirikson.
A telegraphed right hand from Brett misses the target.
Brett tries to land a front kick but Eirikson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A head kick by Brett misses
and Eirikson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brett has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Eirikson finds it's way round the side to connect with Brett's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brett bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Benny Brett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eirikson misses with a body shot.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Eirikson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Nice body kick there by Brett.
Brett looks to land a body kick but Eirikson moved away.
