The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mayhem.
Pauwels looks like he wants to counter punch here.

We've been hearing good reports from Mayhem's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Mayhem is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mayhem lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Pauwels quite badly. Pauwels pulls Mayhem in close trying to recover. Mayhem postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Pauwels on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Pauwels doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
