The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newsto looks for a takedown but Vargas sprawls well.
Vargas drops Newsto with a right and a left! Vargas comes rushing in but Newsto regains his composure and manages to keep Vargas in guard.
Newsto is rocked!
Vargas gets to his feet and stands over Newsto, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Newsto felt that one! Vargas unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Newsto from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johny Vargas!
After winning the bout, Johny Vargas thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
