Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Norris Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 46 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Kyle Romo!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romo works the jab nicely.
John Kyle Romo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Romo throws a hook to the side of Norris Jr's head but Norris Jr sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nice defenses there by Norris Jr.
Norris Jr with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Norris Jr gets tackled into the ropes by Romo. Romo maintains the clinch.
Norris Jr looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Romo slowing the pace effectively.
We've been informed that Romo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

I was talking to Norris Jr's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Norris Jr's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Romo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Norris Jr throws a leg kick which misses Romo's front leg but catches the back leg as Romo tries to avoid it.
Romo dips to his left and cracks Norris Jr with an uppercut!
Norris Jr throws a good cross that connects.
Romo moves in looking to clinch but Norris Jr pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Kyle Romo will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Romo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Romo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Norris Jr connects with a looping right hand.
Norris Jr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Norris Jr loads up on a big right hand but Romo slips the punch.
Norris Jr sets himself, and Romo steps forward looking for the clinch! Norris Jr avoids it this time.

Romo has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Norris Jr closes the distance and catches Romo with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Romo is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Romo is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Romo is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Norris Jr takes it!
