The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sammich instigates a clinch.
Minasian prevents a body shot from Sammich.
Minasian blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sammich trying to control the position but instead, Minasian has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sammich into the cage.
Minasian lands a knee to the body.

Minasian throws out a loose jab but Sammich uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sammich cracks Minasian with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Sammich blocks a head kick by Minasian.
Sammich slips under a jab.
Sammich doesn't manage to clinch there - Minasian circles away.

Sammich tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Minasian changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Sammich ducks right into an uppercut from Minasian.
Minasian slips under a jab.
Minasian feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Minasian keeps the fight on the outside.
Sammich takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sammich swings for the body but Minasian moves out of range.
Sammich misses with a jab, cross combination.
Minasian throws a quick counter head kick but Sammich was just out of range.
Sammich misses with a straight left.
We've been informed that Sammich has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Sammy Sammich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sammich lands with a shot to the body.
Sammich misses with a right hand
and Minasian counters with a straight right hand.

Minasian drops Sammich with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sammich looks back up at him and smiles so Minasian waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Sammich is rocked!

It looks like Sammy Sammich has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Minasian steps in with a hook that catches Sammich right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Minasian follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Sammich looks absolutely devastated.
