The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montgomery throws a sloppy head kick
and Nicolas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Montgomery throws a lazy body kick
and Nicolas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Marshall Montgomery has been cut.
Montgomery throws a head kick that half lands.
Nicolas throws a poor cross that misses
and Montgomery counters with a nice body kick.
Montgomery throws a hook but Nicolas blocks it.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Montgomery.
Nicolas throws a good cross that connects.
Nicolas steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Montgomery. That one must have hurt.
A head kick from Montgomery lands but Nicolas takes it in his stride.

It looks like Harold Nicolas has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nicolas takes a jab right on the kisser.
Nicolas stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Montgomery digs a good body shot into Nicolas's ribs.
Montgomery connects with a solid leg kick.
Montgomery throws a leg kick which misses Nicolas's front leg but catches the back leg as Nicolas tries to avoid it.
Nicolas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
A head kick from Montgomery lands but Nicolas takes it in his stride.
Marshall Montgomery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Montgomery fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nicolas manages to avoid it.
Nicolas now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Nicolas blocks a head kick by Montgomery.
Montgomery has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Nicolas counters with a nice uppercut.

and Nicolas scores with a counter punch that sends Montgomery to the canvas! Nicolas smells blood - he's punishing Montgomery with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Montgomery has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
