With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kazekage Kuro!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice combo by Brett! Oh, that's hurt him - Kuro falls to the canvas and Brett follows him into side control.

It looks like Kazekage Kuro has been cut.
Kuro is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Kuro is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kuro regains full guard. Nicely done.

Kuro has his foot on Brett's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brett works his way back into a safe position though.

Kuro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Brett postures up and lands a big shot to Kuro's brow.

Brett passes Kuro's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Brett scores with a big shot! Kuro's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Kuro! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benny Brett!
In his post fight interview, Benny Brett started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
The defeated Kazekage Kuro had this to say: 'Ahhhhh crap!'.
