Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Doc Dykstra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Colin McLauhglin!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLauhglin lands a nice looking body shot.
McLauhglin connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dykstra momentarily.
McLauhglin scores with a decent looking hook.
Dykstra lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McLauhglin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dykstra lands with a kick to the ribs.
Dykstra misses with an uppercut. McLauhglin saw that one coming.
Dykstra throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No joy there for McLauhglin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dykstra was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Dykstra misses with a body shot.
Dykstra takes a swing at McLauhglin's ribcage but misses.
Dykstra on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dykstra throws a nice outside leg kick.

McLauhglin misses with a hook
and Dykstra counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McLauhglin thinking.
Doc Dykstra is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McLauhglin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dykstra counters with a head kick that drops McLauhglin to the mat! McLauhglin scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
McLauhglin looks winded!

Dykstra sends McLauhglin crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Dykstra is motioning to the referee to let McLauhglin up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dykstra punishes McLauhglin's body with a nice straight punch.

Dykstra feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McLauhglin sprawling to the canvas! McLauhglin rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Dykstra finish him?!


McLauhglin is rocked!


It looks like Colin McLauhglin has been cut.
Dykstra lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dykstra misses with an uppercut.
McLauhglin looks like he wants to counter punch here.
McLauhglin needs to keep his hands up - Dykstra had a free shot at his head there.
Good leg kick by Dykstra there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
McLauhglin misses with a few strikes there.
Dykstra uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Dykstra keeps McLauhglin at a distance using the push kick.
McLauhglin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dykstra thuds his shin into the meat of McLauhglin's side.
We've been informed that McLauhglin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Dykstra lands a body shot.
McLauhglin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dykstra plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Dykstra cracks McLauhglin with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Dykstra has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning McLauhglin to stand back up!
McLauhglin is still on wobbly legs! Can Dykstra finish him?
Dykstra lands a leg kick that knocks McLauhglin off balance momentarily.
McLauhglin seems to have recovered his senses.
McLauhglin glances at the clock... BAM! Dykstra nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends McLauhglin crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, McLauhglin is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Doc Dykstra!
Doc Dykstra decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
