The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhod leaves Stenson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stenson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rhod scores with a nice right hand.

Rhod lunges at Stenson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Stenson's hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Rhod. No joy for Stenson on that attempt.

Rhod closes the distance and clinches.

Stenson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A little jabbing left from Rhod on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Rhod looks for the body kick but Stenson saw that one coming.

and Rhod counters with a straight right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stenson tries for a takedown but Rhod circles away easily
and Rhod counters with a nice uppercut.

A decent looking cross lands there for Rhod.
Rhod scores with a jab. Stenson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

and Rhod connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Rhod is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Stenson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Stenson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rhod tries to avoid it but Stenson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rhod to the ground. Rhod escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stenson is breathing heavily.
Rhod moves in looking to clinch but Stenson pushes him off.

Rhod cracks Stenson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Nice uppercut lands for Rhod. That snapped Stenson's head back.

Oh Stenson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rhod cracks Stenson on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Stenson falls backwards against the cage. Rhod follows up with more strikes that drop Stenson to his knees. Rhod keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Stenson! This one is all over!
