Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kane Shaam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gavin Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kane Shaam!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman misses with a wild body shot.
Shaam throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Freeman throws a low kick, looking for Shaam's leg but Shaam calmly moves out of range.
Shaam looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Freeman tries to land a leg kick but Shaam saw it coming and moves away.
Shaam looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
We've been told by Freeman's head coaches at The Barracks - LOD that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Shaam clobbers Freeman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Freeman takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gavin Freeman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Freeman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shaam unleashes a big counter combination but Freeman bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

and Shaam finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Freeman shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Freeman throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Shaam cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Freeman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shaam darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

and Shaam counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Freeman takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Shaam is looking to slow Freeman down with leg kicks.
Some bone on bone action there as Shaam checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Shaam takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Freeman lands a jab to the nose.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shaam tries to bum rush Freeman with a series of wild strikes but Freeman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Freeman throws a leg kick
and Shaam counters with a left and a right that stings Freeman.
Shaam scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Shaam shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Freeman's guard.

Shaam controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Shaam is working Freeman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Freeman tries to bum rush Shaam with a series of wild strikes but Shaam uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Freeman throws a front kick aimed at Shaam's knee but Shaam avoids it well.
Shaam fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Freeman takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shaam fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Freeman misses with a low kick.
Freeman will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sloppy strikes from Freeman. Those never looked like landing.
Freeman lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Shaam bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Shaam shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Freeman misses with a left hand
and Freeman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shaam slips a jab and a cross from Freeman.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kane Shaam dominated that round.

Some wild striking there from Freeman.
Freeman throws a leg kick

and Shaam counters with a single leg into guard. Freeman didn't expect that.
Shaam looking to sit in guard and control but Freeman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Freeman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Freeman tries to free his leg and advance position but Shaam is retaining full guard.
Shaam has control of Freeman's left arm, preventing Freeman from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shaam has an active guard here but Freeman has managed to pass into half guard.

Shaam is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Freeman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Freeman's back!
Shaam is striking from the back but Freeman escapes and manages to recover to half guard.

Freeman is in a horrible position here. Shaam smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

What can Freeman do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Kane Shaam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Freeman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shaam throws a nice outside leg kick.
Freeman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Freeman with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shaam to score with a decent uppercut.
A combination from Freeman does no damage.
Shaam throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Shaam has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Freeman finds it's way round the side to connect with Shaam's head.
Kane Shaam seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shaam fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Shaam changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Freeman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Freeman duly obliges.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Freeman misses with a few strikes there.
Shaam is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Freeman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Shaam pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Shaam checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shaam scores with a jab to the jaw.
Shaam digs a good body shot into Freeman's ribs.
Freeman takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Freeman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Shaam counters with a body kick that stops Freeman in his tracks momentarily.

Shaam is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Freeman's half guard.
Shaam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Shaam lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Gavin Freeman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Freeman has hold of Shaam's hands but Shaam slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shaam seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shaam connects with a nice short shot to Freeman's temple.

The referee warns Freeman that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Freeman tries to lock up and control but Shaam gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kane Shaam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shaam has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
