The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coppes dips to his left and cracks Otumba with an uppercut!
Coppes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Otumba swats away the attempt to clinch by Coppes.
Otumba feints the counter takedown.
Otumba gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Coppes.
Stefan Coppes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coppes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Otumba's hands.
Otumba takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Otumba ducks under a wild hook from Coppes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Otumba is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Coppes cracks Otumba with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Coppes has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Otumba to stand back up!

Otumba is rocked!

It looks like Stephen Otumba has been cut.

Coppes lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Otumba up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Coppes from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Otumba's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
