Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Squiggy Squirrelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harold Shipman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Squiggy Squirrelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Harold Shipman!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shipman throws a jab when Squirrelly was well out of range.
Squirrelly throwing a counter right hand but Shipman manages to avoid it.
Squirrelly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shipman was well out of range. Poor timing from Squirrelly.
Shipman stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Squirrelly throws a body shot but no joy.
Shipman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Squirrelly.
Squirrelly takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Shipman misses with the combination.
Squirrelly feints a jab promting Shipman to slip. Squirrelly then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shipman slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shipman avoids the body shot from Squirrelly.
Squirrelly misses with a wild combination.
Squirrelly slips a straight right by Shipman.
A looping hook to the body misses from Squirrelly. Shipman does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shipman takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Squirrelly throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Squirrelly is looking to wear down Shipman with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Squirrelly throws a head kick but Shipman moves out of range.
Squirrelly throws a hook to the side of Shipman's head but Shipman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Squirrelly tries to land a front kick but Shipman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Squirrelly misses with a hook to the body
and Shipman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Squirrelly fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Squirrelly throws a low kick, looking for Shipman's leg but Shipman calmly moves out of range.
Shipman with the counter takedown but Squirrelly avoids it easily.
Squirrelly misses with a straight left.
Squirrelly looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Shipman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Shipman missing with a left hand there. Squirrelly was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Shipman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Squirrelly.
Shipman dodges the punch combination from Squirrelly.
Shipman with the counter takedown but Squirrelly avoids it easily.
Shipman lands a glancing blow to the side of Squirrelly's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A little feinted left hand from Squirrelly on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Squirrelly lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Squirrelly looks to score with a jab to the body but Shipman is just out of range.

Squiggy Squirrelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shipman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Squirrelly attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Shipman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Squirrelly is looking to score with low kicks.
Shipman looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Shipman misses with a wild combination.
The crowd cheers as Shipman lands an impressive looking overhand right. Squirrelly doesn't seem phased though.
Squirrelly throws a body kick that misses.
Squirrelly swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Squirrelly uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shipman.
Squirrelly takes a swing at Shipman's ribcage but misses.
Shipman avoids the body shot from Squirrelly.
Shipman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Squirrelly defends it well.
Nice shot lands for Shipman.
Shipman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Squirrelly.

Shipman ducks under a wild hook from Squirrelly.
Shipman lands a right hook to the body.
Squirrelly misses the shot to the body.
Shipman scores with a sloppy right hand. Squirrelly should have avoided that one.


Squirrelly is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shipman goes for a double leg but Squirrelly avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Squirrelly continues to drive forward.
Squirrelly throws a low kick but Shipman avoids it.
It seemed like Shipman was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Shipman might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Squirrelly throws a shot to the body.
Squirrelly takes a swing at Shipman's ribcage but misses.
Squirrelly bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shipman's head.

and Shipman counters with a takedown into side control.

Oh Squirrelly is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Squirrelly trying to remain calm as Shipman controls from the top position.
Squirrelly seems to have got his legs back now.

Shipman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Squiggy Squirrelly will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Squirrelly counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Squirrelly throws a hook but Shipman avoids it easily.
Squirrelly swings for the body but Shipman moves out of range.

and Shipman scores with a counter punch that sends Squirrelly to the canvas! Shipman smells blood - he's punishing Squirrelly with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Squirrelly has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harold Shipman!
