A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 11 - 7 - 2, fighting out of London, Slade Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vale with a lazy takedown attempt
and Wilson counters with a straight right hand.
Wilson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Vale misses with a wild combination.
Vale pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Wilson looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Vale lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Vale cracks Wilson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Wilson dives in and scores a takedown into Vale's guard.

Vale pushes Wilson off and scrambles back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vale digs a good hook to Wilson's body.
Wilson throws a solid leg kick but Vale takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Wilson.
Wilson throws a head kick but Vale moves out of range.
Wilson's corner calls for a 1-2. Wilson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Vale throws a series of punches but Wilson moves out of range.
Vale misses with a hook.
Vale throws an off balance right hand
and Wilson counters with a solid body kick.
Wilson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Wilson throws a head kick that Vale semi-blocks.

Vale fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wilson digs a good body shot into Vale's ribs.
Vale misses with a hook.
Wilson only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Vale looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vale lands with a nice combination. Wilson backs away looking to recover.
Wilson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vale.
Wilson slips a straight right by Vale.

Vale misses with a leg kick
and Wilson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wilson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Vale takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Vale is breathing heavily.
Wilson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wilson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vale moves away.

Wilson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nice defenses there by Wilson.
Vale misses with a low kick.
Wilson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vale misses with a straight left.

Vale throws a body shot but no joy.
Wilson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Wilson thuds his shin into the meat of Vale's side.
Wilson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Wilson throws a head kick but Vale moves out of range.
Vale shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Wilson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vale misses with a right hand
and Wilson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Wilson lands with a right that hurts Vale. Vale looks to clinch but Wilson throws a short knee that drops Vale. This one is all over!

Slade Wilson got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
