Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Snake Plisskin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Azumah Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Plisskin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nelson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Plisskin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Plisskin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nelson moves away.
Plisskin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Nelson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nelson lands a slapping body shot.
Nelson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Plisskin.
Plisskin misses with a left hand
and Nelson counters with a nice body shot.
Nelson moves away from the strike by Plisskin.

Nelson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nelson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Plisskin at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Plisskin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A little jabbing left from Nelson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Plisskin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nelson was well out of range. Poor timing from Plisskin.

Plisskin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nelson scores with a jab to the jaw.
Plisskin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Plisskin misses the jab.
Nelson throws a body shot but no joy.
Nelson cracks Plisskin with a right hand to the side of the head.
Nelson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Plisskin.
Plisskin misses with a body punch
and Nelson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Plisskin digs a good hook to Nelson's body.

Plisskin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nelson.
Plisskin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Nelson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Plisskin misses with a wild body shot.

and Nelson counters with a right hand to the body.
Nelson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nelson scores with a punch to the head.
Nelson looks to land a left hand but Plisskin moved out of range nicely.

Snake Plisskin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Plisskin takes one on the button.
Nelson works the jab nicely.

and Nelson counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snake Plisskin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nelson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Plisskins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Nelson drops Plisskin with a beautiful combination! Plisskin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nelson is looking for the KO!


Plisskin is rocked!
Nelson leaves Plisskin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Oh Plisskin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nelson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Plisskin.
Plisskin seems to have got his legs back now.
Nelson lands with a good body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nelson cracks Plisskin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Plisskin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Azumah Nelson dominated that round.
That's time! Plisskin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Nelson stuns Plisskin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Nelson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nelson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Nelson lands with a straight right. Plisskin didn't see that one coming.
Nelson moves out of range of the strikes.
Nelson loads up on a big right hand but Plisskin slips the punch.

Plisskin misses with a lunging right hand
and Nelson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nelson takes one to the chin there.
Nelson tests Plisskin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nelson misses with a body shot.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Plisskin might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Nelson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Plisskin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Nelson counter with a right hand.
Nelson throws a shot to the body.
Nelson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nelson throws a jab when Plisskin was well out of range.
Nelson lands a two punch combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nelson cracks a nice hook into Plisskin's ribs.

Plisskin looks to score with a jab to the body but Nelson is just out of range.

Nelson cracks Plisskin with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nelson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Plisskin to stand back up!
Plisskin gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Nelson gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Azumah Nelson!
