Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Nordlund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Perello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perello is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by One for the Money. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, David Nordlund!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joey Perello!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perello with a lazy takedown attempt
and Nordlund connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Perello scores with a body shot.

Perello closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nordlund to the mat! Nordlund manages to get full guard.
Nordlund is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Perello dives into side control.

Nordlund is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Perello goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nordlund has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Perello but great work by Nordlund.
Nordlund wants to stand but Perello is controlling his arm.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nordlund decides to stand back up. Nordlund steps back and let's Perello get back to his feet.
We've been hearing reports that Nordlund has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Perello changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nordlund looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nordlund knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perello on the ground.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Perello thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nordlund's head.

Perello closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Perello tries to score a body lock takedown but Nordlund shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Perello tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nordlund is trying to break free.
Perello jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nordlund walks away with a smile on his face. Perello gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
David Nordlund has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey Perello.
Perello closes the distance and clinches up with Nordlund, looking for a takedown. Perello pushes Nordlund against the cage but Nordlund circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nordlund swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Perello shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nordlund but Nordlund pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perello shoots in but Nordlund avoids the takedown attempt easily.
It looked like Nordlund was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Nordlund is trying to get back to full guard.

Nordlund wants to control but Perello is keeping busy.

Perello is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nordlund has managed to free his arm - good work.
Perello has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Perello feints and as Nordlund raises his hands in defense, Perello changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Perello controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Perello with a nice head shot there.
Perello slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Perello passes into half guard.
Perello drops an elbow to the side of Nordlund's head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Perello not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Perello escapes and gets back to his feet.
Perello darts in looking for a takedown but Nordlund gets double underhooks and turns Perello into the cage.
Nordlund was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Perello on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

and Nordlund counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nordlund loads up on a big right hand but Perello slips the punch.
Perello lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nordlund at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joey Perello showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Perello gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nordlund can't break the clinch.
Nordlund looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Perello shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nordlund as he avoids it easily.

Perello looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
It looked like Nordlund wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Perello takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Perello misses with a head shot. Nordlund uses the momentum to regain guard.

Nordlund has his feet on Perello's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Nice uppercut there from Nordlund.
Perello goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
David Nordlund is winning the standup battle so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice takedown defense from Nordlund. No joy for Perello on that attempt.

Nordlund uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Nordlund throws a right hand that Perello ducks under and follows up with a left that Perello also avoids with ease.

Nordlund keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nordlund rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perello moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Perello drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Nordlund defends it well.

Perello closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nordlund did well to prevent Perello getting side control.

Nordlund wants to control but Perello is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Perello connects with a nice short shot to Nordlund's temple.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Joey Perello is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Perello takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

David Nordlund showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Perello has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
