Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jiu Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Matiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Matiss!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matiss connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Jitsu blocks a leg kick.
Matiss keeps the fight on the outside.
Matiss throws a leg kick but Jitsu sees it coming and moves out of range.
Jitsu is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Matiss.
Jitsu shoots in for a takedown but Matiss shows good takedown defense.
Matiss misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A low kick from Matiss is predictable there

and Jitsu counters with a shoot takedown. Matiss fights it but they end up in guard.

Jitsu drops back looking for a leg! Matiss is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Matiss manages to kick Jitsu off! Jitsu jumps back into Matiss's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jitsu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jitsu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Matiss looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Matiss looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Matiss!

Jitsu is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Jitsu is looking for a sweep. Matiss is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jitsu makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jitsu.
Jitsu doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Jitsu has his foot on Matiss's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matiss works his way back into a safe position though.

Matiss is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jitsu works his way to full guard. Good work.
Jitsu doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Matiss wants to control from the top but Jitsu keeps moving.

Matiss is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jitsu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jitsu is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jitsu looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Matiss is defending well. Jitsu quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Matiss has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jitsu celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
