Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 17 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Underestimated Dillashaw Junior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ricardo Monteban!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Dillashaw Junior counters with a straight right hand.

Monteban throws a strike but Dillashaw Junior rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Monteban looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Monteban felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Monteban is trying to escape the mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dillashaw Junior takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dillashaw Junior's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

I think Monteban has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
