Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Turner!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gregory Gumshoe!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gumshoe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Turner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gumshoe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Turner pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gumshoe misses with a takedown attempt
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Turner throws a low kick but Gumshoe moves out of range easily.
Gumshoe throws a poor cross that misses
and Turner counters with a straight right hand.

Gumshoe forces Turner back against the cage and clinches.
Gumshoe lands a body shot in the clinch.
Gumshoe swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gumshoe has a couple of punches blocked by Turner.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Gumshoe.
Turner wants to break free but Gumshoe has control.
A nice right hand lands inside from Gumshoe.
Gumshoe scores with a shot to the side of Turner's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Turner tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Gumshoe tries to work over Turner's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Gumshoe misses with a punch to the body.
Turner blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Turner stalling in the clinch but Gumshoe improves position.
Turner is trying to break free.
Gumshoe has a couple of punches blocked by Turner.
Gumshoe lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Turner is trying to push Gumshoe away but Gumshoe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Gumshoe is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Turner pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Gumshoe lands with a left to the head.
Gumshoe goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gumshoe throws a punch but it's blocked by Turner.

Gumshoe breaks from the clinch.
Gumshoe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Turner as he avoids it easily.
Ben Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregory Gumshoe.
Turner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gumshoe lands a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gumshoe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Turner was well out of range. Poor timing from Gumshoe.
Turner takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Gumshoe misses with an uppercut. Turner saw that one coming.
Gumshoe scores with a body shot.
Gumshoe throws a hook to the side of Turner's head but Turner sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gumshoe moves out of range of the body kick from Turner.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gumshoe throws a leg kick which misses Turner's front leg but catches the back leg as Turner tries to avoid it.
Gumshoe fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Turner.
Turner on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Turner misses with a low kick as Gumshoe jumps back.

Gumshoe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gumshoe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Turner is keeping the position for now.
Gumshoe is looking to work some ground and pound but Turner has wrist control.
Gumshoe throws a strike but Turner rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Gumshoe looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Turner puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Turner wants to control but Gumshoe is keeping him busy.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gumshoe is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Gumshoe is in trouble now - Turner has advanced to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turner controlling his opponent.
Turner has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Turner looking to ground and pound but Gumshoe is blocking nicely.
Gumshoe is desperately trying to improve his position but Turner has a good base and remains in mount.
Turner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gregory Gumshoe dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gumshoe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jab, jab by Gumshoe - just one landing.
Turner takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Gumshoe has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nice uppercut lands for Turner. That snapped Gumshoe's head back.
Gumshoe swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Turner.
Gumshoe looks for the body kick but Turner saw that one coming.

and Turner makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gumshoe really felt that one!

and Turner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Gumshoe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Turner swivels and escapes.
Gumshoe connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Turner.
Turner keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gumshoe scores with a sloppy right hand. Turner should have avoided that one.
Gumshoe moves out of range as Turner strikes.
Gumshoe was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Turner thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gumshoe if he has to take too many more of those.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gumshoe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Turner manages to avoid it.
Turner was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Turner. Gumshoe shrugs it off though.
Gumshoe misses with a straight left.
Turner paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Gumshoe throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Turner on the side of the head.

Turner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gumshoe.

and Turner makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gumshoe really felt that one!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gregory Gumshoe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Turner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gumshoe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Turner moves away.

and Gumshoe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gumshoe throws a looping overhand right but Turner ducks down to avoid it.
It looks like Turner has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Turner lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Gumshoe moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gumshoe checks the leg kick nicely there.
Gumshoe slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Turner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Gumshoe rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Turner counters with a low kick, right behind Gumshoe 's knee.
Turner is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
A decent looking cross lands there for Gumshoe.
Turner throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Gumshoe walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Gumshoe throws out a loose jab but Turner uses good head movement to avoid it.

Turner dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gumshoe. That did some damage!

Gumshoe closes the distance and clinches up with Turner, looking for a takedown. Gumshoe pushes Turner against the cage but Turner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Turner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gumshoe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turner tries to avoid it but Gumshoe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turner to the ground. Turner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gumshoe has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Turner.

Gumshoe manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Turner on his heels. He'll look to pass Turner's guard now, I'm sure.

A close third round but Gregory Gumshoe just about did enough to take it.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Gumshoe throws a shot from downtown. Turner moves away and avoids it.
And Turner counters with a quick kick to the body but Gumshoe blocks it.
Crunch! Turner slams his shin into Gumshoe's torso.
Gumshoe lands a glancing blow to the side of Turner's head.

Gumshoe clinches up with Turner and pushes him back against the cage.

Gumshoe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Turner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gumshoe connects with the punch.
Turner misses with a kick to the body.

and Gumshoe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Turner lands a really nice looking cross but Gumshoe seems unphased.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gumshoe fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Turner throws a lazy right hand but Gumshoe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Gumshoe feints and as Turner raises his hands in defense, Gumshoe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gregory Gumshoe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gumshoe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Gregory Gumshoe made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
