Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Waylon Mercy!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jowars closes the distance but Mercy moves to the side
and Mercy counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jowars on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Mercy lands with an overhand left.
Jowars gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mercy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hemfsford Jowars seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mercy feints a jab promting Jowars to slip. Mercy then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jowars slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Hemfsford Jowars has been cut.
Mercy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jowarss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Mercy slaps away a takedown attempt from Jowars, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Nice jab there from Mercy.
Mercy keeps the fight on the outside.
Jowars shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mercy sprawls well. Mercy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jowars gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hemfsford Jowars. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mercy feints and then cracks Jowars's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jowars down.

and Mercy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Mercy uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jowars has time to react.

Mercy has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mercy throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Jowars's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Mercy dives in looking to finish as Jowars flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Mercy's strikes! Mercy is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Jowars's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Jowars was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
