Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Piranha Chonan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chonan tries to clinch but Aldo is having none of it.
Chonan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Aldo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Aldo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Chonan momentarily.

It looks like Piranha Chonan has been cut.
Aldo swats away the attempt to clinch by Chonan.
Chonan is looking to clinch.
Aldo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Chonan counters by moving into the clinch.
Chonan scores with a shot to the side of Aldo's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chonan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Aldo tries to break free but Chonan pushes him back against the ropes.
We've been informed that Aldo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Aldo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chonan has him pressed against the ropes.

Aldo is looking to break free of the clinch but Chonan has double underhooks.
Aldo can't find room to land a body shot as Chonan controls the action.

Aldo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Chonan fails with an attempt to clinch.
A punch lands to the side of Chonan 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Aldo throws a body kick that misses.
Aldo misses with a left hand

and Chonan moves into the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chonan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Chonan's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Chonan is trying to maintain a safe position but Aldo gets an underhook and turns Chonan into the ropes.
Chonan tries to work over Aldo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Chonan is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Aldo throws a head punch that misses.
Chonan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Chonan stalling against the ropes.
Chonan misses with the head strike.
Aldo has a couple of punches blocked by Chonan.

Aldo breaks the clinch.
Chonan closes the distance looking to clinch
and Aldo counters with a nice uppercut.

The fight stays on the outside here - Chonan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chonan wants to clinch up but Aldo keeps it at a distance.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Aldo! But no joy.

Chonan moves into the clinch.
Aldo tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Chonan avoids it.
Chonan gets through Aldo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Chonan digs a right hand into Aldo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Aldo's gas tank.
Aldo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Aldo lands with a left to the head.
Chonan misses with a punch on the inside.

Aldo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chonan fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Aldo dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Piranha Chonan's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Chonan is looking to clinch but Aldo is avoiding it.
Aldo cracks Chonan with an open hand slap.
Aldo throws a low kick but it's checked well by Chonan.
Chonan tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Aldo manages to circle out of the way.
Chonan tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Aldo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Chonan closes the distance looking to clinch
and Aldo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Piranha Chonan's cut is getting worse.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aldo throws a sloppy head kick and Chonan moves out of range easily.
Chonan tries to clinch but Aldo moves away
and Aldo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Aldo misses with a left hand

and Chonan counters by moving into the clinch.

Chonan lands a hook to the side of the head.
Chonan keeps control of Aldo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Aldo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Aldo feints a jab promting Chonan to slip. Aldo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Chonan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Chonan has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

and Chonan counters by moving into the clinch.

Chonan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Aldo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Aldo paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Chonan moves to clinch but Aldo breaks away
letting Aldo counter with a right hand.

Jeez, Piranha Chonan's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Chonan wants to clinch up but Aldo keeps it at a distance.
Aldo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Chonan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Chonan tries to close the distance and clinch but Aldo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aldo jabs Chonan right on the nose. Chonan blinks but takes it well.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Piranha Chonan's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
