Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kanga Roos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandr Romanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kanga Roos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexandr Romanov!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Romanov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Roos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Romanov.
Roos tries to clinch there but Romanov circles away.
A little jabbing left from Romanov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Romanov scores with a crisp jab that stopped Roos in his tracks.
Romanov throws a head kick that misses
and Roos counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Roos moves in looking to clinch but Romanov pushes him off.
Romanov throws a right hand that Roos ducks under and follows up with a left that Roos also avoids with ease.

Roos looking to score a takedown here. Romanov is defending well but Roos drives through and ends up in Romanov's guard.

Romanov pushes Roos off and scrambles back to his feet.
We've been told by Roos's head coaches at Bellator in Machina ($500) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Romanov gets caught flat footed, as Roos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Romanov has his hands on Roos's head, controlling the position.
Roos is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Roos decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Romanov, up you get!
Roos scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Roos shoots in but no luck this time.

Roos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Romanov, pushing him back against the cage.
Romanov is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Roos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Romanov slaps away a takedown attempt from Roos, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kanga Roos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Roos moves into the clinch.
Romanov is pushing Roos up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Roos tries to pull guard but Romanov holds him up against the cage and eventually Roos drops back down to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Romanov is trying to force a seperation but Roos has the dominant position.

Roos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Roos tries to clinch up.
Romanov throws out a counter right but Roos avoids it with no problem.
Romanov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Romanov misses the shot to the body.

Roos gets a double leg takedown into Romanov's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roos throws a big elbow that misses.
Roos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Romanov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Roos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Roos stands and steps away. Romanov gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Roos gets the takedown into side control.
Romanov prevents Roos from improving position.

Roos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Roos working the strikes but Romanov uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Roos wants to control but Romanov is keeping him busy.

Roos is working for a kimura but Romanov is defending it quite comfortably.
Romanov is staying active underneath Roos, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Roos missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Roos throwing shots but Romanov is blocking nicely.
Roos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Roos looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Roos is trying to control. Romanov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Roos is working for a kimura but Romanov is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kanga Roos will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Romanov throws a sloppy head kick and Roos moves out of range easily.
As Romanov tries to get set, Roos tries to push him back and clinch up but Romanov manages to avoid the attempt.
Roos throws a head kick that misses.
Roos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Romanov as he jumps to the side.
A combination from Roos does no damage.
Roos takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Kanga Roos has been cut.
Roos fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Roos dives in and grabs Romanov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Romanov pushes down on Roos's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kanga Roos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Good leg kick by Romanov there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Romanov lands a big head kick that sends Roos tumbling to the mat! Romanov takes a step backwards and waves Roos back to his feet - he wants the finish!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Roos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Romanov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Roos shoots in but Romanov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Romanov throws a head kick that misses.
Roos is looking for a counter combo.
Romanov connects with a stiff jab that staggers Roos - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alexandr Romanov!
During a confident post fight interview, Alexandr Romanov thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
