PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Taiga Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galen Dall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dall has chosen War as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taiga Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Galen Dall!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jim tries to clinch up.

Jim gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dall wants to break free but Jim has control.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dall has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Jim lands a right hand.
Dall lands a body shot in the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Jim blocks an uppercut.
Dall lands a body shot in the clinch.
Dall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jim just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jim misses with a short punch on the inside.

Dall breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dall tests Jim's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Jim has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dall tries to work over Jim's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jim scores with a hook to the body.

Dall jumps into guard, dragging Jim to the mat.
Dall keeping moving, preventing Jim from controlling successfully.
Dall looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Dall had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jim defends it easily.
Jim with a flurry of punches that miss.
Dall seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Jim is looking to work some ground and pound but Dall has wrist control.
Jim lands a couple of digs.

Jim wants to control from the top but Dall keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dall on the ground.
Jim loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Dall looking for a guillotine here but Jim defends easily.
Dall is trying to control the position but Jim postures up.
Dall avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jim chips away with some ground and pound.
Jim wants to control from the top but Dall keeps moving.
Jim has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Dall is trying to keep Jim in close.

Dall is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jim is aware though and is defending well.
Dall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jim keeps working.
Dall passes the guard and advances to mount!
Dall moves to take his opponent's back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jim is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Dall looking for the RNC.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Galen Dall dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A jab lands there for Dall.
Taiga Jim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jim moves out of range of the strikes.
Jim tries to clinch up.
Dall dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jim. That did some damage!
Dall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jim manages to avoid it.
Jim avoids the body shot from Dall.

Jim doesn't manage to clinch there - Dall circles away.
Dall clobbers Jim with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Jim fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jim misses with a jab, cross combination.

Dall misses with a low kick.
Dall circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dall tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Dall lands the left hand.
Dall scores with a nice body kick.
Dall throws a leg kick but Jim checks it.
Taiga Jim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A telegraphed right hand from Dall misses the target.
Taiga Jim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jim gets in close and instigates a clinch.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jim takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Dall tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Dall tries to stall but Jim uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Jim will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Dall up against the cage.
Jim gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Dall tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Jim lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Dall is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jim pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Dall scores with a shoulder strike.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Dall.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dall manages to break the clinch.

Dall avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dall misses with a wild body shot.
Jim slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jim tries to close the distance and clinch but Dall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dall slips under a jab from Jim.
Jim changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Dall throws a hook but Jim avoids it easily.
Dall avoids the head kick by Jim.
Jim lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jim throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dall misses with a looping right.
Dall keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Dall swinging wildly here.
Jim lands a nice hook to Dall's body. Dall takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Dall throws a big shot that misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jim throws a right hand that Dall ducks under and follows up with a left that Dall also avoids with ease.

Jim moves into range and clinches up with Dall.

Jim gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dall.
Jim stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Dall can't find room to land a body shot as Jim controls the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Taiga Jim will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Taiga Jim.
I think Jim has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
