Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Corbin Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noob Saibot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphy comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Shipping Up To Boston. Noob Saibot has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corbin Murphy!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Noob Saibot!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saibot tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Murphy swivels and escapes.
A little feinted left hand from Murphy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Murphy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Saibot doesn't seem bothered though.
We've been told by Murphy's head coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Murphy misses with the combination.
Murphy connects with a body shot.
Murphy scores with a one two! Saibot had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Murphy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saibot.
A swing and a miss from Murphy.
Murphy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Saibot manages to avoid it.
A telegraphed right hand from Murphy misses the target.
Saibot misses with a few strikes there.
Saibot throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Murphy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Saibot swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Murphy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saibot.
Murphy digs a good body shot into Saibot's ribs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A jab from Saibot does it's job there.
Saibot tries to move into range but Murphy moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Saibot lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Saibot takes one on the button.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The crowd cheers as Saibot lands an impressive looking overhand right. Murphy doesn't seem phased though.
Saibot swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
An attempted straight right counter from Murphy misses the target.
Murphy moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Murphy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saibot swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Murphy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Murphy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Saibot throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Murphy's waist but Murphy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Saibot off to one side.
Nice jab there from Murphy.
Murphy is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Saibot fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Murphy sprawls well initially but Saibot persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Saibot not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Saibot prevents Murphy from improving his position.
Saibot throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Saibot is looking for a kimura here.
Saibot lands with a punch from half guard.

Saibot wants to take a breather but Murphy is having none of it.

Saibot is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Murphy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Saibot.

Saibot wants to work for an arm triangle but Murphy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Saibot not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Murphy is looking to escape.
Saibot misses with a head shot. Murphy uses the momentum to regain guard.
Saibot scoring with some ground and pound.
Saibot postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Saibot trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Saibot working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Saibot throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Saibot advances position into side control!

Saibot goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Murphy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Saibot but great work by Murphy.

Saibot is looking to regain half guard here but Murphy keeps moving and retains side control.
Saibot keeps trying to improve his position.
Saibot gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Saibot is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Murphy trying to mount his opponent but Saibot defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Corbin Murphy dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Saibot is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Murphy.
No joy there for Saibot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Saibot cracks Murphy with an open hand slap.
Murphy scores with a decent looking hook.
Murphy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Murphy jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Saibot darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Saibot is trying to work for a kimura but Murphy is defending well.

Saibot looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Murphy is pressing down on Saibot's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Saibot throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Murphy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Saibot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murphy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Saibot has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Saibot working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Murphy controlling the position.
Saibot pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Murphy is keeping the position for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Saibot is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Saibot postures up in Murphy's guard and throws a big left but Murphy blocks it.
Saibot in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murphy looks like he's trying to stand up.

Murphy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Saibot is working away from the top position though.

Saibot is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Murphy is just riding it out for now. Saibot eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Saibot is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Murphy is just riding it out for now. Saibot eventually gives up the hold.
Murphy is looking to control Saibot's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Murphy avoid being mounted?
Saibot thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Saibot is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Murphy reverses the position - he's now on top in Saibot's guard.

Murphy has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Saibot to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Murphy is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Saibot pulls down on the head and he's put Murphy to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Noob Saibot! Noob Saibot retains his featherweight title!
An out of breath Noob Saibot thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
