Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Piero Paniccia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Day has chosen Last minute - Great day to choke you out as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gary Day!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Day misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Paniccia misses the target.
Paniccia avoids the body shot from Day.
Paniccia feinted with a counter takedown.
Gary Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Day throws a lazy right hand but Paniccia sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Day throws a big shot that misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Paniccia misses its target.
Paniccia slips a jab from Day.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Paniccia lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Day has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Day and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Paniccia manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Day on his heels. He'll look to pass Day's guard now, I'm sure.

Day working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paniccia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Paniccia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Day ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Paniccia moves away.
Day moves out of range as Paniccia strikes.
Day swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Day drops back looking for a leg! Paniccia is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Paniccia manages to kick Day off! Day jumps back into Paniccia's guard.

Paniccia is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Day is aware though and is defending well.
Paniccia is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Day can do to turn this around?
