Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Mallox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Granger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mallox might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mobb Deep - Quiet Storm. Granger comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Get Ya Strut On - Lord Have Mercy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Scott Mallox has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pete Granger!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Granger connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mallox. Mallox circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Mallox moves into the clinch.
Granger misses with the head strike.
Mallox avoids the elbow strike from Granger, against the cage.
Granger throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Granger blocks an elbow strike.
Mallox throws a head punch that misses.
Granger avoids a wild elbow strike from Mallox.

Mallox breaks the clinch.
Mallox is looking to clinch.
Mallox takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Mallox definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A left lands for Granger.

It looks like Scott Mallox has been cut.
Mallox tries to clinch up but Granger circles away and keeps his distance.
Granger now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Granger moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mallox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Granger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Mallox closes the distance and clinches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mallox lands an elbow that stopped Granger in his tracks for a moment.
Mallox throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Mallox swings wildly with an uppercut but Granger uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mallox tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Granger avoids it.

Granger lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mallox backwards.

Granger breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Granger throws a shot to the body.
A combination from Mallox does no damage.
Granger moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Granger swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mallox seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Granger scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Granger swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Granger has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Granger changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Granger darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Granger sizes up Mallox with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Oh Mallox is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mallox bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Granger clobbers Mallox with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Granger connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mallox momentarily.
Mallox tries to close the distance and clinch up but Granger swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Granger tries to keep at a distance but Mallox has taken the fight into the clinch.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Mallox just misses with a elbow thrown towards Granger's brow.
Mallox misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Granger.
Mallox seems to have got his legs back now.

Granger has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mallox uses from the top position.

Let's hope that Granger has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Mallox tries to close the distance and clinch up but Granger swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mallox tries to move into range but Granger moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Granger connects with a nice looking jab.

A right-left combo lands from Granger.
Granger cracks Mallox with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Mallox falls to his knees and Granger doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
