The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swift tries to score a power double leg takedown but Davydenko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Swift somewhat.

Swift is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Davydenko.

Swift is rocked!
Davydenko throws a right hand that Swift ducks under and follows up with a left that Swift also avoids with ease.
Davydenko scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Davydenko lands with a hook. Swift tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Swift is still on wobbly legs! Can Davydenko finish him?
Davydenko throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Swift 's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Davydenko dives in looking to finish as Swift flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Davydenko's strikes! Davydenko is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Swift 's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Swift was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
