PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Conor McCracken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dr Thork (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCracken's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rebels Song - Come out and Fight. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor McCracken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dr Thork!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCracken slips under a jab.
McCracken uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thork.
McCracken is looking to counter with a body kick.
Thork lands a jab.

McCracken changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thork looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Thork manages to get back to half guard.

McCracken is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thork defends it well.
McCracken throwing shots but Thork is blocking nicely.
McCracken prevents Thork from improving his position.
McCracken not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Thork looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
McCracken not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Thork has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McCracken is working away from the top position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCracken thows a huge punch but Thork dodges it nicely.
Thork is trying to control but can't.
Thork might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McCracken haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Thork controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
McCracken not doing much here.

McCracken seems to be looking for submissions.

McCracken is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thork defends it well.
McCracken trying to mount his opponent but Thork defends it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McCracken is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thork is just riding it out for now. McCracken eventually gives up the hold.
Thork is trying to control but can't.

Thork looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

McCracken has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Thork defend it? McCracken steps over the head and cranks it - Thork is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McCracken!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Conor McCracken!
