Thurmond is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Black Skinhead. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez looks for a takedown but Thurmond sprawls well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Martinez counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Martinez clinches up against the cage.
Martinez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Martinez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Thurmond presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Martinez throws a strike but Thurmond rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
