The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Skol.
Strong blocks a head kick by Skol.
Strong feints the counter takedown.
Strong throws a good cross that connects.
Skol throws a leg kick but Strong sees it coming and moves out of range.
Strong uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Skol.
A left lands for Strong.

It looks like Nick Skol has been cut.
Skol tries a head kick but it misses.
Skol throws a body kick that misses

and Strong counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Skol is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at aLion's MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Strong is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Strong wants to control from the top but Skol keeps moving.
Strong sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Skol's guard.

Well, if Strong is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Skol is not content to let Strong control the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Strong takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Strong takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Skol needs to keep his hands up - Strong had a free shot at his head there.
Skol with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Strong to score with a decent uppercut.
Nick Skol is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Skol lands a nice leg kick that just misses Strong's sensitive parts.
Skol on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Skol fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Strong.

Strong ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Strong swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Skol.
Strong fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Skol looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Strong takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Skol is looking to score with low kicks.
Skol takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Skol is rocked!
Strong is stalking Skol. Skol circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Strong, and it's lights out! Skol really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
