Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kane Arona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taz Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kane Arona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Taz Barry!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barry feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Arona keeping moving, preventing Barry from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barry accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Barry is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arona on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arona tries to get out of the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Arona looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Barry takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Barry shoots in looking for a takedown. Arona tries to sprawl out of it but Barry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arona manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Barry takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Barry tries to clinch but Arona moves out of range.
Arona lands a jab.
Barry has a takedown stuffed.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Barry closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Barry goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Arona rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Barry's guard! Nice work there by Arona!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Arona avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Arona slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Barry has his foot on Arona's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Arona works his way back into a safe position though.
Arona stays in close to Barry's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kane Arona will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Barry takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Arona looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Arona tries to score with a low kick but Barry moves his leg out of the way.
Barry steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Arona.
Barry shoots for a double leg takedown but Arona sprawls well. He's pushed Barry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Barry jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Arona lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Taz Barry has been cut.
A slow jab from Arona misses its intended target.
Barry shoots in but Arona avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arona throws a body shot but no joy.
Kane Arona seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barry shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arona sprawls well. Arona wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barry gets slowly back to his feet.
Kane Arona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taz Barry.
Arona fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barry manages to avoid it.
Arona sets himself, and Barry steps forward looking for the clinch! Arona avoids it this time.

Arona cracks Barry with a right hand to the side of the head.
Arona lands with a kick to the ribs.
Arona throws a head kick that misses.
Barry steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Arona.
Arona is looking to wear down Barry with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
A jab from Arona misses.
Barry feints the counter takedown.
Arona throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Barry displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Arona throws out the jab.
Barry shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arona sprawls well. Arona wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barry gets slowly back to his feet.
Arona scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Barry doesn't seem bothered though.
Arona tests Barry's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kane Arona is winning the standup battle so far.
Arona connects with a jab.
Kane Arona is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barry throws a sloppy head kick
and Arona counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


Barry is rocked!
Barry looks up at the clock. Bad move! Arona lands a right hand from hell, dropping Barry. Arona pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kane Arona!
Kane Arona seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
