PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Tremblay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Webb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Webb has chosen Kid Rock - Born Free as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Tremblay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Webb!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Webb misses.
Tremblay tries to score with a low kick but Webb moves his leg out of the way.
Tremblay throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Webb keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Tremblay lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Webb misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tremblay.
Tremblay feinted with a counter takedown.
Webb takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Christopher Webb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tremblay displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Webb throws out the jab.
Webb scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Webb blocks a leg kick.
Webb swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Tremblay slips a straight right by Webb.
Webb throws a right hand that Tremblay ducks under and follows up with a left that Tremblay also avoids with ease.
Webb stuns Tremblay with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Tremblay throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Webb takes a swing at Tremblay's ribcage but misses.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Tremblay.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Webb can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tremblay fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Tremblay tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tremblay has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tremblay is putting a hurting on Webb here, landing some big shots from side control.

Tremblay lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Webb down.
Webb is looking to reverse the position.
Tremblay is trying to ground and pound but Webb uses the momentary lack of control by Tremblay to regain half guard.
Webb trying to control but Tremblay postures up.
Tremblay not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Tremblay is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Tremblay not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Webb keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Tremblay takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Webb is trying to maintain the position but Tremblay is very close to passing his half guard.

Tremblay is looking to take a break and control but Webb is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Webb tries to get to full guard but Tremblay has control of the leg.

Tremblay seems to be working for a kimura but Webb defends the submission attempt.
Tremblay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Tremblay lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Tremblay is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tremblay is taking a breather. Webb says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tremblay working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Tremblay thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Webb has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tremblay is working away from the top position though.
Tremblay drops an elbow to the side of Webb's head.
Webb gets full guard.
Webb is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tremblay throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Webb is trying to keep Tremblay in close.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tremblay's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Webb looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tremblay tries to free his leg and advance position but Webb is retaining full guard.
Tremblay working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Webb's head.
Tremblay trying to control but Webb is working from the bottom.
Webb tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tremblay throws an elbow that misses. Webb uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tremblay's guard. Nice move by Webb!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tremblay lands a decent shot there.
Tremblay tries to strike from the bottom.

Tremblay has his foot on Webb's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Webb works his way back into a safe position though.
Webb trying to control the position from guard on top but Tremblay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Webb scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Webb landing with the ground and pound.
Tremblay has momentary wrist control but Webb slips an elbow through the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Tremblay dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Webb takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Tremblay shoots in looking for a takedown. Webb tries to sprawl out of it but Tremblay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Webb manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Webb looks to throw the jab but Tremblay is out of range.
Webb throws a shot from downtown. Tremblay moves away and avoids it.
Webb looks to land a combination but Tremblay avoids it well.
Webb throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tremblay sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Webb's jab looks to have found its range, popping Tremblay under the eye.

Webb lands a left and a right that send Tremblay crashing to the mat, dazed. Webb thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Tremblay is rocked!


It looks like Mark Tremblay has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Some wild striking there from Webb.
Oh Tremblay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Webb is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Tremblay flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Tremblay is out cold! Webb holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Christopher Webb!
In his post fight interview, Christopher Webb started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
