Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Minor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ric Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flores is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Napalm & Erruption- In San Francisco. Gerald Minor could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ric Flores's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerald Minor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ric Flores!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minor blocks a jab.
Minor tries to clinch up but Flores circles away and keeps his distance.
Flores lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Flores swings away with a body shot that misses

so Minor counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Minor sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flores wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Flores has his foot on Minor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Minor works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Minor keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Flores's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Minor connects with a couple of short punches.

Minor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Flores has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Minor has managed to get both his arms back between Flores's legs - danger averted.

Flores escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Minor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Minor wants to control from the top but Flores keeps moving.
Minor passes into half guard.
Flores regains full guard. Nicely done.
Minor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Flores seems keen to control Minor's posture.
Flores lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Flores slips nicely into half guard.
Minor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Flores trying to advance position but Minor counters by regaining guard.
Minor seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Minor keeping moving, preventing Flores from controlling successfully.
Flores slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Flores perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Minor trying to control but Flores postures up.
Minor is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Minor won't allow Flores to pass to mount.
Minor wants to improve his position but Flores is controlling well.
Minor wants to control but Flores is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Minor looking for submissions off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Flores in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Minor tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Flores!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ric Flores!
Ric Flores very nearly forgot to thank Sin City Allstars amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
