Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Royal Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Diaz struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Nick Diaz looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Royal Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Pain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sloppy strikes from Pain. Those never looked like landing.
Diaz takes a swing at Pain's ribcage but misses.
Diaz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Pain pushes Diaz up against the cage in a clinch.
Pain wants to take the fight to the mat but Diaz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Diaz prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royal Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pain has Diaz pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pain pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Diaz tumbling to the mat - Pain dives into Diaz's guard.
Pain slips nicely into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pain lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Diaz is in trouble now - Pain has advanced to mount!
Diaz is squirming around, avoiding Pain's attempts to control the action.

Diaz has left one of his arms exposed and Pain doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Diaz screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Royal Pain!
An out of breath Royal Pain thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
In defeat, Nick Diaz stepped up to the mic, saying 'I was unlucky and he got that chance and used it, i can only promise to be back stronger and never let you guys down again, thank you all!'.
