Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Rodriquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Does (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Does has chosen I,Godless-A Night In Texas as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Curtis Rodriquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Does!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Topper Green and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriquez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Rodriquez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Rodriquez wants to stand but Does has his arm trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Does is looking for a sweep.
Rodriquez controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Does is trying to improve his position.
Does takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rodriquez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Does's legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodriquez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Does sneaks back into half guard.
Does is pressing down on Rodriquez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Does is striking but Rodriquez is not phased and passes to half guard.
Rodriquez trying to control the action but Does is working from the bottom.
Does wants to control but Rodriquez is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rodriquez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Does wants to get back to full guard.
Rodriquez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Does with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rodriquez trying to control the action but Does is working from the bottom.
Does is trying to stand up here but Rodriquez is controlling him well.
Does is positioning himself well to prevent Rodriquez advancing to mount.
Rodriquez content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Does throws a right and a left that both miss.
Some wild striking there from Does.
Does showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rodriquez.
Does looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Rodriquez dives in and scores a takedown into Does's guard.
Rodriquez's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rodriquez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Does trying to control the position.
Rodriquez with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rodriquez works over Does with some ground and pound from guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rodriquez sitting in guard here, content to control.
Does has Rodriquez pulled in close to control his posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis Rodriquez dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Does throws a right and a left that both miss.
As Does looks to move away, Rodriquez throws a big counter combo but Does just gets out of the way.

Rodriquez gets a clinch.
Rodriquez tries to pull guard but Does forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Rodriquez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rodriquez tries to clinch but Does is having none of it.
Does with a hook.


It looks like Curtis Rodriquez has been cut.
A combination from Does does no damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rodriquez.
Does wants to get back to his feet but Rodriquez is dominant here and he's now got Does's back!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodriquez has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Does's body.
Rodriquez wants to control but Does is keeping busy.
Rodriquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Does tries to escape but Rodriquez has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Rodriquez misses with punches from the back.

Does trying to get back to his feet but Rodriquez is in full control for now.
Rodriquez is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Rodriquez is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Does is defending well though. Rodriquez let's go of the attempt for now.
Rodriquez is looking to control Does but Does is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Curtis Rodriquez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Does trying to control the hands but Rodriquez won't let him.

Rodriquez is hanging on to Does's back as he tries to escape.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Rodriquez's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Does is in bad spot here.
Rodriquez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Does can do to turn this around?
Does trying to control but not successfully.
Does is taking damage to the body and head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Does fending off the submission attempt from Rodriquez.

Rodriquez has managed to slip his arm under Does's chin. This could be all over... yep, Does is tapping out! Submission win for Rodriquez.

In defeat, Roger Does stepped up to the mic, saying '*sigh*'.
