Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cormac Gutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Grice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gutz comes to the cage accompanied by Everyday. Grice has chosen GZA - Shadowboxin' as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grice connects with a leg kick. Gutz looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Gutz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Grice throws out the jab.
Gutz is looking for a counter combo.
Gutz feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Grice's calf.
Gutz throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Grice avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gutz on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Grice throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Grice misses with a low kick.
Grice throws a nice inside leg kick.
Grice throws a lazy right hand but Gutz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Gutz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gutz throws a nice looking combination but Grice bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Gutz tries to keep at a distance but Grice has taken the fight into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grice tries to work over Gutz's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Gutz misses with a short punch on the inside.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Grice.
Gutz is trying to break the clinch but Grice is controlling him.

Gutz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Gutz throws a push kick but Grice slaps the foot to one side.

Grice's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Grice throws a sloppy head kick and Gutz moves out of range easily.

Good leg kick by Grice there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Grice closes the distance looking to clinch
and Gutz counters with an outside leg kick.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Grice uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gutz.
Grice swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Grice comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Grice moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Grice throws a nice inside leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Grice. Gutz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Grice ducks under a wild hook from Gutz.
Grice wants to land a leg kick but Gutz is out of range.

Grice's corner calls for a 1-2. Grice obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Grice misses with a body kick.
Gutz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Grice lands a leg kick that knocks Gutz off balance momentarily.
Grice takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Grice throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gutz.
Gutz missing with a left hand there. Grice was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gutz lunges at Grice with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Grice's hand.
Grice catches Gutz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Grice does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Grice throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Grice connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Grice takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gutz is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Grice jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gutz thows a left - swing and a miss!
Grice tries to counter by closing the distance.
Grice tries to land a leg kick but Gutz saw it coming and moves away.

Gutz lands a big right hand that sends Grice crashing to the mat! Gutz stays standing though and waves Grice back to his feet!

Grice is rocked!

Gutz sends Grice crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gutz is motioning to the referee to let Grice up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Grice is still on wobbly legs! Can Gutz finish him?
Gutz takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Grice backs away from a small jab... but Gutz lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Grice crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Gutz with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Cormac Gutz!
Cormac Gutz was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
In defeat, Gary Grice stepped up to the mic, saying 'Wu Tang fuh evah!'.
