Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blanco Rosso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Vee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Blanco Rosso!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Vee!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rosso takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Vee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rosso moves away.
A big left from Vee misses.
Nice defenses there by Vee.
Vee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rosso was well out of range. Poor timing from Vee.
Rosso was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
We've been told by Rosso's head coaches at The Jungle Elite MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rosso fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vee avoids it really well and circles away.
Rosso steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vee.
Rosso goes for a double leg but Vee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vee continues to drive forward.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rosso moves out of range of the strikes.
Rosso half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Vee misses with a looping left.
Vee throws out a loose jab but Rosso uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vee stuns Rosso with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Vee throws a shot from downtown. Rosso moves away and avoids it.
Vee lands a lovely overhand right.
Vee shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rosso eats them both and turns towards Vee to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Vee throws a body punch but Rosso moves out of range.
Rosso rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vee moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rosso throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vee was covering up waiting for the punch and Rosso finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vee can do anything to dispel that myth.
Vee wants to sweep but no luck.
Rosso is looking to pass into half guard but Vee pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Vee is in guard.


Rosso working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vee is working Rosso over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

My spies in Death Valley Training Facility inform me that Vee has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Vee is in close to Rosso's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Rosso escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Vee loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Vee throws a big elbow that misses.
Vee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Vee trying to control the position from guard on top but Rosso is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rosso looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vee is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brandon Vee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rosso attempts a counter takedown but Vee avoids it well and moves away.
Vee lands a right hook to the body.
Rosso uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vee.
Brandon Vee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rosso misses the jab.

Rosso looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rosso tries to pass to full mount but Vee defends it.

Rosso is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Vee as he works his way to full guard.

Vee wants to sweep here but Rosso controlling him for the moment.
Rosso pushing down on Vee's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rosso is looking to advance position but Vee won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rosso doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Vee looks to land a right hand but Rosso moved out of range.
Vee scores with a shot to the body.

so Rosso counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Vee wants to sweep but no luck.
Rosso pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vee is keeping the position for now.

Rosso drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rosso jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rosso stays in close to Vee's body and controls the position.

Rosso drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vee looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vee looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vee!

Vee tries to score with some ground and pound. Rosso controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Rosso tries to bench press Vee off him but Vee keeps the position.
Rosso sneaks back into half guard.
Vee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rosso's head.
Vee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rosso is staying active underneath Vee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rosso is trying to stand.
Rosso is looking for a sweep. Vee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rosso is trying to stand.
Blanco Rosso overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rosso has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Vee is on him like a limpet, forcing Rosso back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rosso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Horrible takedown attempt by Rosso or perhaps it was just good defense by Vee, which made it look bad.

Vee looks to land a right hand but Rosso moved out of range.
Rosso is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Vee.
Rosso fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vee avoids it really well and circles away.
Jab from Vee.
Vee connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Vee missing with a left hand there. Rosso was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rosso drops down looking for a counter takedown but Vee sprawls and moves away.
Vee is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rosso.
Rosso is looking to counter punch.

Rosso walks into a jab.
Rosso staying out of range there.
Vee misses with a straight left.
Vee cracks a nice hook into Rosso's ribs.
Vee connects with the punch.
Vee lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Nice shot by Vee.


Rosso is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vee cracks Rosso with a left hook right on the temple and Rosso goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Vee lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Rosso is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brandon Vee!
Brandon Vee is the new heavyweight champion!
After winning the bout, Brandon Vee thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
