Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramses Xll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole comes to the cage accompanied by I Won't Back Down. Xll has chosen Karl Sanders - Rapture of the Empty Spaces as his entrance music. Ramses Xll acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xll misses the shot to the body.
Cole moves in looking to clinch but Xll pushes him off.
Xll looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Xll lands with a nice combination. Cole backs away looking to recover.

I was talking to Cole's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Cole seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Xll does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Xll is trying to maintain a safe position but Cole gets an underhook and turns Xll into the cage.

That was a close round but I would say that Michael Cole will probably get the nod.

Cole wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Cole lands a nice shot to the body.
Xll throws a front kick aimed at Cole's knee but Cole avoids it well.
Ramses Xll seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Cole has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
