Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manolito Damhuis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Dunas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damhuis throws an overhand right that lands on Dunas's shoulder, as Dunas tries to avoid the shot.
Dunas counters with a body kick.
Damhuis with a jab.
Dunas lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Damhuis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dunas momentarily.
Damhuis misses with a straight right.
Damhuis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice defenses there by Dunas.
Dunas flicks out a counter leg kick but Damhuis steps away.
Damhuis with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Damhuis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dunas replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Damhuis blocks it well.
Nice shot lands for Dunas.
Damhuis does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Damhuis lands a nice short elbow.
Dunas tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Damhuis has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Dunas sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Dunas tries to kick Damhuis off but Damhuis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dunas is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Damhuis scores with a couple of nice shots.
Damhuis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dunas is trying to stand back up but Damhuis is controlling him
Damhuis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Dunas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dunas has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Damhuis is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Dunas lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Dunas tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Damhuis's elbow.

Dunas fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Damhuis is out of range.
Damhuis changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Damhuis has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Damhuis there as he acknowledges the shot.
Damhuis lands a leg kick that knocks Dunas off balance momentarily.
Dunas wants to clinch up but Damhuis keeps it at a distance.
Damhuis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dunas was well out of range. Poor timing from Damhuis.

Dunas ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Damhuis takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Dunas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Damhuis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dunas is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dunas parries the strikes from Damhuis easily there. Damhuis is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dunas to escape.
