The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kriel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alenitchev as he avoids it easily.
Yuri Alenitchev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alenitchev rushes Kriel and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kriel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kriel showed some decent athleticism there.

Kriel has control of Alenitchev's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Alenitchev regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kriel throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Alenitchev because Kriel loaded up on that one.

Kriel is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Alenitchev is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Alenitchev flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kriel anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Alenitchev and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kriel slips an arm under Alenitchev chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kriel has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kriel is squeezing on Alenitchev like an anaconda would it's prey. Alenitchev fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
