Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cormac McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pyryx Dall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dall is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Fuel and Fire. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac McCarthy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pyryx Dall!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dall drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dall being controlled here momentarily.
Dall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McCarthy is keeping the position for now.
Dall passes easily into side control. Nice work.
McCarthy tries to buck Dall off but Dall is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dall looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCarthy prevents Dall from improving position.
McCarthy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dall wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Dall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McCarthy is trying to control Dall's posture but Dall avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dall is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McCarthy has escaped the position, nice work there.
You can see the frustration on McCarthy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dall looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Dall swings around for an armbar but McCarthy sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dall's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCarthy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McCarthy looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dall looking to hit a scissor sweep but McCarthy is one step ahead there.
McCarthy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Dall looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dall has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. McCarthy is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pyryx Dall dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McCarthy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dall manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dall let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Left hook, right uppercut from Dall.
McCarthy tries to clinch up
and Dall counters with a right hand to the body.
Dall throws a low kick but McCarthy moves out of range easily.
McCarthy is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dall.
McCarthy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.


It looks like Pyryx Dall has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Dall.
Dall has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McCarthy ducks under a wild hook from Dall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCarthy looks to land a body kick but Dall moved away.
McCarthy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Cormac McCarthy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dall throws a front kick aimed at McCarthy's knee but McCarthy avoids it well.
McCarthy is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
A jab from McCarthy misses.

Dall moves out of range as McCarthy throws a body kick.
McCarthy takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Dall throws a jab when McCarthy was well out of range.
McCarthy lands a front kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Dall - that will leave a mark!
McCarthy scores with a nice body kick.
McCarthy lands a nice shot that snaps Dall's head back.
Dall moves out of range of the strikes.
McCarthy lands with an overhand left.
McCarthy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Pyryx Dall seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Dall is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McCarthy.
McCarthy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McCarthy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dall throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McCarthy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dall was well out of range. Poor timing from McCarthy.
Dall fails with the takedown
and McCarthy counters with a stiff right hand.
Dall on the wrong end of a nice hook.


Dall is rocked!
McCarthy scores with a jab to the body.
Dall is still on wobbly legs! Can McCarthy finish him?
Dall is breathing heavily.
A chopping leg kick lands by McCarthy.
McCarthy finds Dall's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Dall flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. McCarthy lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Dall will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Cormac McCarthy!
Cormac McCarthy seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
