PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Private Griff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Kelso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Private Griff!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Kelso!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Bruno Hogan and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kelso shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kelso was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Griff is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelso throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Griff trying to hold on to Kelso's head to control him but Kelso postures up.

Griff looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Griff is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kelso scores with a couple of nice shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griff is trying to maintain the position but Kelso is very close to passing his half guard.
Griff is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kelso lands strikes from half guard.
Griff could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kelso wants to pass to mount but Griff is defending the position.
Kelso is thwarting Griff's attempts to control the position.
Griff looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Griff is looking to improve his position.
Kelso trying to control the action but Griff is working from the bottom.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kelso looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Griff with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kelso passes into side control, despite Griff's attempt to control the position.
Kelso tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kelso lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Griff down.
Kelso scores with punches from side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Griff is not content to let Kelso control the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Griff tries to bench press Kelso off him but Kelso keeps the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Kelso dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Kelso lands a high kick to the side of Griff's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Kelso dives into guard, looking to finish.


Griff is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!


It looks like Private Griff has been cut.
Kelso arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Griff's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Michael Kelso!
Michael Kelso is the new super heavyweight champion!
A relieved looking Michael Kelso thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
